Care Quality Commission CQC

With effect from 1st April 2013 the Health and Social Care Act (2008) requires that all GP practices must be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The Ridings Medical Group has been registered and our CQC provider ID is 1-199694422. The Registered CQC Manager is Dr Anne Jeffreys.

It is the job of the CQC to monitor hospitals, care homes, dentists, home care providers and now GP practices against a set of national standards.

Inspectors from the CQC can visit the practice and inspect us and the services we provide to our patients. As part of that process they will interview staff and patients and look at our policies, records and files.

If the CQC is not happy that we are meeting their standards they can instruct the practice to make changes.

We were inspected by the CQC on Wednesday 7th December 2016 and were rated as Good in all areas
